This Infiltration tank was completed as a retro-fit for an existing rubble pit which was no longer functioning at its capacity.
This 1236 ft³ tank captures all roof water from the surrounding townhouses and infiltrates the water back into the sandy soil.
Double Atlantis® D-Raintank® Tank Modules were used to create a void space where water could leach out the sides as well as the bottom of the tank for an effective stormwater management solution.
Photos
1. Cross sectional photo showing tank wrapped in geotextile on the bottom, with backfill layer over the top.
2. Pulling away the geotextile layer to reveal the Atlantis® D-Raintank® Tank Modules making up the infiltration tank.
3. View of hole made for inlet pipe (giving an idea of the volume of water being collected). Inlet pipes are inserted straight into the tank modules with a section like this one being cut away and the pipe inserted 2"-4" into the tank modules. The geotextile is then wrapped back over the pipe and taped up before backfill. |
